Speaking Fast and the Illusion of Higher Intelligence?

I used to believe articulating words is best but I think we should know when to speak fast and when to articulate.

Often, people who explains things quickly and well usually appear more intelligent and smarter and gain higher credit from others and enforce more control over others.

The psychological trick is that when one speaks fast, he would have more control over others because he steals the time needed for others to have their own thoughts. In addition, the quicker you speak, the quicker your brain works and you yourself feel more intelligent and are able to analyse things quickly and better.

This is not against any listening skills.

So perhaps best is: when you're presenting something solo, articulate. When you're communicating with others speak faster.

The Golden Rules of High Productivity

  • See each life/work project as a series of 2-minute actions. Only focus on taking action for the next 2-minute task and don't worry about deadlines. You should never think too further ahead of the next few actions; that reduces complexity.
  • Collect => Process => Organize => Action
  • Collect means you should collect unto a paper/nodebook/google doc whatever task comes to your mind.
  • Process means you should decide the destiny of each task which has come to your mind and you've written. Decide what to do about it (defer/delegate/do). Decide the next 2 minute task for it. You should never have a Project in your mind for which you don't know what the next 2-minute action is.
  • Organize means if should be defered put it in the Calendar. If can be delegated delegate.
  • Action means obviously take action and do the 2-minute action about it.

Example, imagine you have 30 tasks. Decide in your mind quickly what the next 2-minute actions are for each task then go through the tasks and take the 2-minute actions; therefore by the end of the 1 hour all your projects have progressed forward for 2 minute! then start the cycle again. That's how CPU works.

Learning and Remembering by Glossaries

Learning and Remembering by Listing a Collection of Words or Phases (Glossaries).

This is a technique used to memorize, learn and remember topics by listing certain words about a subject.

For example, if I'm going to list a glossary about Politeness, it would be like:

  • Politeness
  • Listening
  • Thank You
  • Please
  • Respectable
  • Likable
  • Interested
  • Reading others feelings
  • Not hurting others
  • Cultural Differences
  • Life Progress
  • Wealth and Growth
  • Making Friends
  • Keeping Friends
  • Being Considerate and Kind

My Top Best Hay Fever Tips

I finally managed to manage and reduce my hay fever dramatically. This is my way:

1. Eat and Drink

a. Drink plenty of water

b. Take Vitamin C 1000mg; and eat fruits which contain vitamin C e.g. Oranges, etc

c. Honey is very good and desensitised your immune system against pollens

2. Eyes:

a. Wash your eyes with tea (cheapest and best) or just an over-the-counter hay fever eye drops; that helps the pollens get removed.

3. Nasal:

a. Rob Vaseline to your nostrils which prevents the pollens get inside your nose causing sneezing and runny nose

b. Use Nasal Hayfever spray to stop the itchiness and runny nose

c. Use Sinus Rinse to completely clear your sinus: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001G7QMYE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

4. Reduce Exposure

a. Pollens stick to your hair and clothes. Make sure you shake your clothes when you get home and take a shower when you get home.

5. Tablets
a. The above will work but in case it’s still unresolved then try hayfever tablets once a day and/or paracetamol every 4 hours.
